'Sharp first-base fair ball' irregular boundary that knocked out KT [sports news]

Kim Hyun-soo's RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning breaks down KT's bullpen and they lose the game

Kim Hyun-soo says he'll follow through

Game 2 of the 2023 KBO Korean Series between the KT Wiz and the LG Twins at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul on Monday. LG's Kim Hyun-soo hits a two-run double in the seventh inning.

A two-run homer by Park Dong-won off Park Young-hyun in the bottom of the eighth inning was the one blow that derailed KT Wiz's hopes of a second straight win in the 2023 KBO Korean Series.

However, it was Kim Hyun-soo's RBI double with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning that shifted the momentum to the opposition as KT was unable to score another run.

KT took a 4-0 lead in the second game of the best-of-seven Korean Series (KS-7) against the LG Twins at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on Monday before falling 4-5.

They scored four runs off LG starter Choi Won-tae in the top of the first inning, but were unable to add to their lead and eventually succumbed to LG's onslaught.

The actual turning point came in the bottom of the seventh inning, when KT led 4-2.

After Son Dong-hyun walked Park Hae-min with two outs, the KT bench turned to its most reliable card in the bullpen, Park Young-hyun.

Kim Hyun-soo: 'The upset is right around the corner!

Game 2 of the 2023 KBO Korean Series between the KT Wiz and the LG Twins at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul on August 8. LG's Kim Hyun-soo, first baseman, celebrates after hitting a two-run double in the seventh inning.

Park Young-hyun, who was facing Kim Hyun-soo, decided to go for the fastball after his changeup didn't work, and Kim realized that and hit a double that sailed past KT first baseman Park Byung-ho.

Park Byung-ho, who was playing line defense at first base, was unable to catch the ball because it was too fast.

It was a disappointing moment for Park, who played solid first base defense throughout the series.

Park Byung-ho has bad memories of playing first base in the Korean Series.

It was Game 5 of the 2014 Korean Series against the Samsung Lions when he was playing for the Nexen (now Kiwoom) Heroes.

With the series tied at 2-2, Nexen faced runners on second and third in the bottom of the ninth inning.

A low pitch from Son Seung-rak was pulled by Choi Hyung-woo, and first baseman Park Byung-ho failed to catch a "sharp first base fairball. 슬롯

'N1-D1' Confident diving oohs and aahs as he races to Paris [sports news]

Overcoming an injury to win an AG medal
South Korean diving sensation Woo Haram (25, Korea Sports Authority) won two medals at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games to boost his confidence.

Now that she has completed the Asian Games, Uharam's eyes are set on the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. For now, the goal is to qualify.

At the Hangzhou Asian Games, Uharam competed in three events and won medals in two of them. With four medals (one silver, three bronze) in Incheon 2014 and four medals (two silver, two bronze) in Jakarta-Palembang 2018, Uharam has now won 10 Asian Games medals in his career.

Uharam got off to a strong start at the Games.

She teamed up with junior Lee Jae-kyung (24-Gwangju Sports Federation) to win silver in the synchronized 3-meter springboard. They were unable to overtake diving powerhouse China, but finished second with 393.00 points.

On the 1-meter springboard, Wu Haram was the next highest-ranked athlete, although she was pushed by the Chinese. Wang Zhengyuan (CHN) won gold with 459.50 points and Feng Jianfeng (CHN) took silver with 442.45 points, while Wu Haram finished third with 395.95 points to take bronze.

The final event, the 3-meter springboard, was a bit of a disappointment. After finishing fourth in the preliminaries, Woo was in third place in the final until a big mistake in the fifth heat dropped her to fourth. She scored 411.05 points to settle for the bronze medal behind junior Lee Jae-kyung, who scored 426.20 points.

While she was unable to win a medal in all the events she competed in, the result was a confidence booster for Uharam, who had been sidelined by injury for about a year.

Uharam has been representing South Korea since she was a teenager. She has competed at the World Aquatics Championships four times, starting in Barcelona in 2013, and has placed in the top 10 in most of her events.

He was at the peak of his powers at the 2019 World Championships in Gwangju and the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021, where he came close to a medal.

At the 2019 Games in her hometown of Gwangju, she finished fourth in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards. Although he missed out on a medal, it was the best result for a South Korean male diver in history.

At the Tokyo Olympics, he finished fourth in the 3-meter springboard. This is also the best Olympic result for a South Korean diver.

After Tokyo, however, he struggled with injuries.

He missed last year's World Championships in Budapest due to a herniated disk and had a disappointing performance at this year's World Championships in Fukuoka. She failed to qualify for the semifinals of the 3-meter springboard competition after finishing 19th in qualifying.

Heading into the competition, Uharam said, "I'm starting to feel like I did in 2019, which was my best time recently. I'm not 100%, but I'm getting there," he said, adding that the Asian Games represented a "new starting point for me."

With a fresh start, Uharam made it to the podium as he had at the previous two Asian Games. Although her medal tally was low because she no longer competes on the 10-meter platform, it was an invaluable confidence booster after a recent slump.

Uharam's ultimate goal is an Olympic medal. On his way out of the country, Uharam emphasized that "the end goal is a medal."

After failing to qualify for Paris at the World Championships in Fukuoka, Uharam will try again next February at the World Championships in Doha, Qatar. As the 1-meter springboard is not an Olympic event, Uharam will be looking to qualify for the 3-meter springboard.

Uharam is slowly regaining the feel and confidence he had at the top of his game, and if he can refine his technique over the next four months, he should be able to achieve his primary goal of qualifying for Paris. 스포츠토토링크

Korean legend criticizes 'Kim Min-jae class', proves it with performance [sports news]

Mateusz pointed out his defensive prowess in Copenhagen start
Mateus was criticized, but he showed off his skills in silence.

Despite criticism from legendary German defender Lothar Matthäus, Kim Min-jae (Bayern Munich) proved to be a force to be reckoned with. He proved his "class," as they say these days.

German professional soccer club Bayern Munich came from behind to win the second leg of their 2023-2024 UEFA Champions League (UCL) Group A match against Copenhagen 2-1 at Farken in Copenhagen, Denmark, at 4 a.m. ET on Thursday.

The victory was Munich's second straight in the group stage and keeps them at the top of the group, boosting their chances of advancing to the knockout stages.

While Jamal Moussaouiallah and Mathis Tell deserve a lot of credit for scoring back-to-back goals to secure the three points after conceding the opening goal in the 10th minute of the second half, it was Kim Min-jae who stood out for his solid defense at the back and his consistent build-up play.

Kim started as a center back duo with Dayo Upamecano at the '2' in a 4-2-3-1 formation. He won five aerial battles and made three interceptions, as well as one key pass and a 92% passing success rate.

Despite conceding one goal, he earned a 7.6 rating from statistical specialist Fourscore.com. It was the highest on the team and the second highest in both competitions. The fact that he did so after criticizing German legend Mateusz Kic made it even more significant.

Mateusz, a legendary Munich defender and Ballon d'Or winner, recently told local media, "Kim Min-jae is not as good as we expected. He's an element of uncertainty for Munich."

"Considering what he showed in Italy, he's still not up to par," he said, adding to the pressure on him to perform better.

Kim could have rebutted the criticisms through the media, but he kept quiet and proved his worth on the field. 스포츠토토링크
