'Unseeded' Chae Eun Lee shares 1R lead at KLPGA Ladies Classic

Lee Chae-eun.
Lee Chae-eun (24-Angang Gulsul), the 60th-ranked player on the Korean Ladies Professional Golf (KLPGA) Tour's season money list, is tied for the lead on the first day of the SK networks-Seoul Economic Ladies Classic ($800,000).

Lee carded nine birdies and one bogey for an 8-under 64 in the first round of the tournament on Saturday at Finks Golf Club (Par 72) in Seogwipo, Jeju Island.

This puts her at the top of the leaderboard alongside SK networks' Lee Seung-yeon, who carded eight birdies without a bogey, including four straight birdies from holes 15-18.

Lee was ranked 60th on the money list heading into the tournament, making her seeding for next season an emergency.

Players ranked 60th on the KLPGA Tour money list can retain their seeding for next season, but those ranked 61st and below will have to fight for seeding.

After the match, Lee said, "I entered this tournament with the determination to go to Jeju Island in hell. I'm currently ranked 60th on the prize money list, but I can't relax."

"I felt good with my shots, had a lot of birdie chances and finished my putts well. Overall, I played well today," she said, adding, "I will try to keep my timing and rhythm as good as possible over the next three days."

Lee, who was battling a cold, got off to the best possible start in the sponsored event. Lee will be looking for her second career victory, some four years and six months after her first at the Nexen St. Nine Masters in April 2019.

"I had a cold last week, so I wasn't feeling well. I wanted to play well as it was the main sponsor's tournament, but I was able to play well because I was desperate," she said.

Yoo Seo-yeon (BHC Group) finished in a tie for third place with a 6-under-par 66, while Hong Jin-young (An Kang E&C), Park Hyun-kyung (Korea Land Trust), Kim Ji-hyun (Daebo E&C), and Choi Eun-woo (Amano) tied for fourth place with a 5-under-par 67.

Lee Ye-won (KB Financial Group), who leads the tournament in wins, money, points and scoring average, finished the first round in a tie for eighth place at 4-under 68.

Last year's winner, So Mi Lee (Daebang E&C), was tied for 71st at 1-over par 73. 슬롯

'51-year-old' cyclist Lee Do-yeon wins third straight ParaAG title "I beat myself again today"

Lee Do-yeon.

Para-cycling's "iron man" Lee Do-yeon (Sport Class WH4, North Korea Para-Cycling Federation) has won his third consecutive Para-Asian Games title.

Lee won the women's handcycling (H1-5) road solo gold medal at the Hangzhou 2022 ParaAsian Games on Saturday, covering 13.5 kilometers of the Chun'an Jiexiu Sports Center Cycle Road Course in Hangzhou, China, in 23 minutes, 35.80 seconds.

Lee completed a hat-trick of titles in the event after winning in Incheon in 2014 and Indonesia in 2018.

Para-cycling involves riding different bicycles depending on the type of impairment, and Lee, who has a lower limb impairment, rides a handcycle, which involves lying on her back and rolling the pedals with her arms.

In a road solo, competitors start one minute apart and compete for their personal best time.

Lee clocked 10:21.91 in the first leg of the race, 4.11 seconds behind China's Sun B & N (10:17.80), but she picked up the pace in the second half. Her final time was 15.65 seconds faster.

After the game, Lee said, "I'm the oldest player here. I was intimidated by the younger guys, but I was here for the national team, so I didn't use my age as an excuse, and I ran like hell."

Lee's accomplishments as an athlete are remarkable. Paralyzed in an accident at age 19, he didn't pick up a table tennis racket until he was 34. At 40, he took up track and field, winning three gold medals at the 2012 Paralympic Games (Korean records in the javelin, discus, and shot put) before switching back to handcycling in 2013. The following year, she became the first Asian athlete to win an international Para-cycling event (2014 Para-Cycling World Cup in Italy).

In 2018, he won the Para Nordic skiing (cross-country and biathlon) gold medal at the Pyeongchang Winter Paralympics, just over a year after learning to ski. "I'm grateful to my ancestors. I've always been physically gifted from a young age. I was tired of being disabled and rehabilitated, but I think I did well every time because of my natural body," he laughed.

"I like (cycling road solo) the most because it's not a battle with others, but with myself," Lee said, "I feel proud that I beat myself."

"I think a lot while I'm running," he said, "and when I'm pushing myself, my body isn't my own." "I tell my body and my bike, 'You two are one, run well,'" he said.

Lee will compete in the 41.4-kilometer individual pursuit on Sunday. If he wins gold in this event, he will have won two gold medals in three consecutive Para Asian Games.

Earlier in the day, Yoon Yeo-geun (Sport Class MH4-Chungcheongnam-do), who competed in the men's 13.7-kilometer handcycling road race, finished third in 21:52.01. She won two titles in Indonesia in 2018, but had to settle for bronze this time.

Yoon returns to action on Sunday in the 55.2-kilometer handcycle individual pursuit. 슬롯사이트

'N1-D1' Confident diving oohs and aahs as he races to Paris [sports news]

Overcoming an injury to win an AG medal
South Korean diving sensation Woo Haram (25, Korea Sports Authority) won two medals at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games to boost his confidence.

Now that she has completed the Asian Games, Uharam's eyes are set on the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. For now, the goal is to qualify.

At the Hangzhou Asian Games, Uharam competed in three events and won medals in two of them. With four medals (one silver, three bronze) in Incheon 2014 and four medals (two silver, two bronze) in Jakarta-Palembang 2018, Uharam has now won 10 Asian Games medals in his career.

Uharam got off to a strong start at the Games.

She teamed up with junior Lee Jae-kyung (24-Gwangju Sports Federation) to win silver in the synchronized 3-meter springboard. They were unable to overtake diving powerhouse China, but finished second with 393.00 points.

On the 1-meter springboard, Wu Haram was the next highest-ranked athlete, although she was pushed by the Chinese. Wang Zhengyuan (CHN) won gold with 459.50 points and Feng Jianfeng (CHN) took silver with 442.45 points, while Wu Haram finished third with 395.95 points to take bronze.

The final event, the 3-meter springboard, was a bit of a disappointment. After finishing fourth in the preliminaries, Woo was in third place in the final until a big mistake in the fifth heat dropped her to fourth. She scored 411.05 points to settle for the bronze medal behind junior Lee Jae-kyung, who scored 426.20 points.

While she was unable to win a medal in all the events she competed in, the result was a confidence booster for Uharam, who had been sidelined by injury for about a year.

Uharam has been representing South Korea since she was a teenager. She has competed at the World Aquatics Championships four times, starting in Barcelona in 2013, and has placed in the top 10 in most of her events.

He was at the peak of his powers at the 2019 World Championships in Gwangju and the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021, where he came close to a medal.

At the 2019 Games in her hometown of Gwangju, she finished fourth in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards. Although he missed out on a medal, it was the best result for a South Korean male diver in history.

At the Tokyo Olympics, he finished fourth in the 3-meter springboard. This is also the best Olympic result for a South Korean diver.

After Tokyo, however, he struggled with injuries.

He missed last year's World Championships in Budapest due to a herniated disk and had a disappointing performance at this year's World Championships in Fukuoka. She failed to qualify for the semifinals of the 3-meter springboard competition after finishing 19th in qualifying.

Heading into the competition, Uharam said, "I'm starting to feel like I did in 2019, which was my best time recently. I'm not 100%, but I'm getting there," he said, adding that the Asian Games represented a "new starting point for me."

With a fresh start, Uharam made it to the podium as he had at the previous two Asian Games. Although her medal tally was low because she no longer competes on the 10-meter platform, it was an invaluable confidence booster after a recent slump.

Uharam's ultimate goal is an Olympic medal. On his way out of the country, Uharam emphasized that "the end goal is a medal."

After failing to qualify for Paris at the World Championships in Fukuoka, Uharam will try again next February at the World Championships in Doha, Qatar. As the 1-meter springboard is not an Olympic event, Uharam will be looking to qualify for the 3-meter springboard.

Uharam is slowly regaining the feel and confidence he had at the top of his game, and if he can refine his technique over the next four months, he should be able to achieve his primary goal of qualifying for Paris. 스포츠토토링크

Korean legend criticizes 'Kim Min-jae class', proves it with performance [sports news]

Mateusz pointed out his defensive prowess in Copenhagen start
Mateus was criticized, but he showed off his skills in silence.

Despite criticism from legendary German defender Lothar Matthäus, Kim Min-jae (Bayern Munich) proved to be a force to be reckoned with. He proved his "class," as they say these days.

German professional soccer club Bayern Munich came from behind to win the second leg of their 2023-2024 UEFA Champions League (UCL) Group A match against Copenhagen 2-1 at Farken in Copenhagen, Denmark, at 4 a.m. ET on Thursday.

The victory was Munich's second straight in the group stage and keeps them at the top of the group, boosting their chances of advancing to the knockout stages.

While Jamal Moussaouiallah and Mathis Tell deserve a lot of credit for scoring back-to-back goals to secure the three points after conceding the opening goal in the 10th minute of the second half, it was Kim Min-jae who stood out for his solid defense at the back and his consistent build-up play.

Kim started as a center back duo with Dayo Upamecano at the '2' in a 4-2-3-1 formation. He won five aerial battles and made three interceptions, as well as one key pass and a 92% passing success rate.

Despite conceding one goal, he earned a 7.6 rating from statistical specialist Fourscore.com. It was the highest on the team and the second highest in both competitions. The fact that he did so after criticizing German legend Mateusz Kic made it even more significant.

Mateusz, a legendary Munich defender and Ballon d'Or winner, recently told local media, "Kim Min-jae is not as good as we expected. He's an element of uncertainty for Munich."

"Considering what he showed in Italy, he's still not up to par," he said, adding to the pressure on him to perform better.

Kim could have rebutted the criticisms through the media, but he kept quiet and proved his worth on the field. 스포츠토토링크
